Wellbeing Rooted in Community.
We believe wellbeing is something we practice together.
Black Being creates space for Black people to slow down, reconnect with themselves and one another, and cultivate greater awareness, care, and belonging.
Through meditation, movement, and community care, we invite practices that support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
What Does It Mean to Practice Mindfulness in—and from—Inglewood?
Many of the mindfulness practices taught in the United States today have roots in Buddhist and other contemplative traditions from across Asia. We honor these lineages and the communities that have carried them.
We also recognize that Black communities have long held their own practices of reflection, prayer, song, silence, movement, ritual, storytelling, and collective care.
